A Little Sunshine! (and Ray of Hope)

I thought I would do a little something different today. As we are constantly bombarded with 24/7 headlines of all the things that are going wrong with our country, our society, and the world (hopefully you have taken our advice and ignored most of it). The stress of everyday living in 2023 - I figured we could all use a little Sunshine today!
As you are aware, thanks to YOU - our wonderful clients - we have had the opportunity to be strong supporters of Camp Sunshine for the last 17 years. Camp Sunshine is a community of the most amazing people I have ever had the opportunity to be associated with. They have been enriching the lives of children with cancer, their parents, their siblings, and their communities for over 40 years!
COVID has been very difficult on our staff, volunteers, and children. Although we have stayed active in the hospitals and social media/zoom, we have missed the personal interactions with the children and each other, which have been so life-changing over the years. NO MORE!
Last weekend we were able to have our Spring Family Camp Weekend. We had beautiful weather, and 26 families attend. We are expecting another full weekend with 27 families arriving today! One parent shared this video (link below) and her message (pasted below) about last weekend. It is a window into the fun of the weekend and the impact this amazing organization is having in the lives of the children with cancer and their families. “Thank you for all you do to support us in making this happen not only for this family but for all our families who are experiencing the shared community and support of Camp Sunshine”.
Please do yourselves a favor and click on the below link – It will make your day!
Here is the message if you cannot open the link:
"We had the opportunity to attend Camp Sunshine family camp this past weekend and it was so great. It was a short weekend (Friday night to Sunday morning) and we were tired after but we treasured the family time and the smiles on the kids' faces. Jackson was in his element. Nash was lower energy at some points but was still able to enjoy many of the activities, and we rested in the cabin when he wasn't feeling his best.
One of the most touching things I learned on the weekend is that there are many survivors of childhood cancer on the Camp Sunshine staff, and that made the atmosphere extra special.
We got to sleep in a cabin, fish, paddle boat, make arts and crafts, try out archery, wood burning, visit a farm, ride horseback and enjoy the outdoors and time together. We got to meet other cancer families and the kids got to make friends. We hope to go back in the fall."
